School Days and a little Family Fun

Much to the girls disappointment, Grandma and Grandpa Garrett left for home yesterday morning. Hope assured me they could live right down the street where we could see them all the time.  After a few tears and feeling "very sad" according to Tori, we tried to get back onto scedule. Though it is now over and already feels like they were never here, we had a very nice time and were sorry to see them go.

We managed to only take two days off while they were here, squeezing in a few extra things now and again. We finished our creation videos, built a skeleton, and are now preparing for civilizations. I didn't get to take them to the Dinosaur Park, but I did fill in with some videos. Now it's time for our Dino Dig this week and we'll have completed the major things I wanted to accomplish with our creation theme before moving on.

The girls are doing very well in all their studies. Hope is really enjoying reading these days (Tori pretends- lest Hope get away from her!) I am still encouraged at how our year is progressing. We are also attending a Mom to Mom group once a month. So far the girls are enjoying that as well. It gives them some children to interact with for a few hours.

As for the few extras: we visited Fredricksburg where Hope went to a Pacific War Museum with Joe and Grandpa. We visited Grapevine Texas -ahem over 1.6 million square feet of shopping. One day just wasn't enough. The girls rode a carousel, went to a candy shop and bought jelly beans and pink and purple M&M's. They had a picnic at Chicken Express with Grandma and Grandpa.  I think that was most amusing . We walked there and back carrying our left overs; at one point we had four dogs panting after us.  Then we taught Grandma and Grandpa how to play Wii Sports. My mother who has never played any sort of computer or video game before in her life is now a Wii Bowling Pro. Go figure. We found out that Grandma and Daddy are quite competitive. You could tell who was winning, you'd see the other one pouting. Which of course was Daddy.

Sounds like you all had fun with Grandma and Grandpa! It's always sad to say good-byes...=( Just start counting down the days till we get together in Branson! That will give you girls something to look forward to! We sure are! Keep working hard in school!
