Wheeler Wildlife Refuge is set up for birding. They had two small nature trails, an observatory, video, and several displays. They also had a hawk there they rescued that could no longer fly. I wish I'd gotten a picture of that. It was so much larger in size than we'd expected it to be. We also took the girls to several other birding sites that day. 3M has property that is part of the North Alabama Birding Trail.
