Joe and I have signed up for Living Social, and there have been a few deals so far we've taken advantage of. The most recent was a family membership pass to "Burritt on the Mountain". I had absolutely no idea what it was, but for $25 you couldn't go too wrong.
We printed our pass, and took a beautiful Saturday afternoon to go check it out. "Burritt" itself, is a house built by a doctor in the late 1930's. He married a wealthy widow and they had no children, upon her death he moved from St. Louis to Huntsville, and built the house he would retire in. With no children, he willed it to the city, who has turned it into a museum. You can tour a few of the rooms as he left them, the other rooms have been turned in to art galleries and other displays. Also on the grounds, they have moved in old buildings from the surrounding area of historic nature. We walked through those, visited the farm animals, and enjoyed a beautiful view. They also had a nature trail we decided to save for our next visit.
